#1 on 'All I Need' by Shawn McDonald
Won't You open my eyes
So I can see
The way that You are working in me
Did you know that God is at work in
you? Well, He is.
"Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed--not
only in my presence, but now much more in my absence--continue
to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it
is God who works in you to will and to act according to his
good purpose" (Philippians 2:12-13, NIV).
God is at work every day and every moment in you to help
you. He is your Creator, and as such He could claim ownership
in your life. But God does not force you to serve Him or to
love Him. We are living in a time of His grace, mercy and
kindness. He wants to work with you, in you, through you.
"Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than
all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work
within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus
throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen"
(Ephesians 3:20-21, NIV).
It is amazing to think that the God who made everything you
can see is at work inside you and me. He can do things beyond
our wildest hopes or dreams. In the song "All I Need,"
Shawn McDonald asks the Lord to help him see how He is at
work in his life. You can ask the same. Look for Him at work
in and through you today. My prayer is that you will be surprised
at how much of Him others see in you.
