Reflection
#1 on 'No Other One' by Rachael Lampa
How do the seasons know exactly
when to change
Who on earth could find a language or a line
Or count the ways to best describe the beauty found in your
design
Do you like the change of seasons? I lived in a part of Texas
for several years where the seasons never changed. We just
had two variations of summer--dry or wet. I enjoyed it for
the first two years, but after that I grew restless. Time
seemed to stand still. I needed change; I needed variety.
So I moved to Nebraska, and boy did I find it.
In the song "No Other Name," Rachael Lampa asks
how the seasons know when to change. Her question goes to
the heart of the greatness of God, His faithfulness, love
and wisdom.
"If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who
gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will
be given to him" (James 1:5, NIV).
God has invited us to ask Him for wisdom when we need it.
In the design of nature we can see the depth of His wisdom.
In its great diversity we see His love. In its rhythms we
see His faithfulness. God loves you. He has made a promise
to you to share His wisdom. You can count on that.
So many times when I did not know what to do, He has come
through with His wisdom. Sometimes it doesn't come as quickly
as I want, but I know it will come. I will know what to do.
Just like the seasons know when it is time for a change, so
you and I can know His wisdom and heart.
If you are confused, if you need help, turn to Him today.
Ask Him to give you wisdom. Trust Him for it. In Him you will
find the answers that you need.
