Henry Cloud
Dr. Henry Cloud was born and raised in Vicksburg, Mississippi.
He attended college at Southern Methodist University in Dallas,
Texas where he earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology with
honors. Dr. Cloud attended Rosemead Graduate School of Psychology
at Biola University, where he received his M.A. and Ph.D. in
clinical psychology with additional graduate level theological
training. He completed his clinical internship at Los Angeles
County Department of Mental Health.
Dr. Cloud is a clinical psychologist. He has an extensive background
in both inpatient and outpatient treatment programs, and has
a private practice in Newport Beach, California. He is a specialist
on such topics as adult psychotherapy, biblical models of personality
functioning and character growth, and spiritual issues of psychopathology.
He also does extensive organizational consulting and speaking.
A best selling author, he has been a guest on “Focus on the
Family” with Dr. James Dobson, CBN’s “700” Club, Trinity Broadcasting
Network, Fox News Network, as well as many other television
and radio broadcasts.
Together with Dr. John Townsend he is co-founder and co-director
of Cloud-Townsend, Inc. He co-founded the Minirth-Meier Clinic
West and he served as its Clinical Co-Director for nine years
along with Dr. Townsend.
Dr. Cloud is an international speaker and the author of Changes
That Heal. He is the co-author of the best sellers Boundaries,
The Mom Factor, 12 “Christian Beliefs That Can Drive You Crazy,”
Safe People, Boundaries with Kids, Raising Great Kids, Boundaries
in Marriage, Boundaries In Dating and the newly released How
People Grow. He and Dr. Townsend were awarded the Gold Medallion
Book Award in 1993 for Boundaries. |
