Remember that old carnival act where the
guy stands in front of a table and spins plates on sticks?
He begins on one end, carefully places a plate on the
top of a stick and gives it a spin. As soon as that plate
gains momentum, he quickly moves to the next plate, and
the next, until ten plates are spinning at the same time.
Then the fun begins.
One by one, the plates begin to slow and wobble almost
crashing to the floor below. The performer rushes to each
plate, quickly giving it a new spin. He pauses, catches
his breath, and they slow down again...

Sound familiar? We all have plates spinning in our lives
family, children, career, relationships... Then,
combine daily distractions like email, cell phones, pagers
when do you have time for marriage? How do you keep
your "marriage plate" spinning?
You need to be intentional. As un-spontaneous as that
sounds, you need to "schedule" reconnect time
with your spouse.
Spending quality time together as a couple is one of the
most significant things you can do for your marriage.
One way to do that is to invest in a marriage conference
or workshop. Envision a getaway where you are free to
focus on each other. You'll reconnect, grow closer through
prayer, and improve communication as you learn God's guiding
principles for marriage. You will learn practical, proven
principles to build your marriage and help you reset your
priorities.
