Blended Family
Some statistics show that 76 percent of second marriages, 87 percent
of third marriages, and 93 percent of fourth marriages will fail
within five years. While the U.S. Census bureau and the national
Center for Health Statistics are a bit more conservative on those
numbers, both agree that at least 65 percent of remarriages end
in divorce. .

Ron Deal, author of The Smart
Stepfamily
Stepfamilies don't have a family tree they have a
family forest! And even without trying, your marriage can
easily get lost in the forest (or is it "You can't see the
marriage for the trees"?). So how can you bind together despite
the forest's attempt to pull you apart? One answer is making
intentional use of marital rituals.

Drs. Les & Leslie Parrott,
authors of Saving Your Second Marriage Before it Starts
Love at first sight seems like a romantic reason for marriage,
but it's not a good predictor of marital success. This is
especially true for a second marriage that is supposed to
be "magically" different from the first. Not that
strong feelings of attraction cannot occur early in a relationship;
they do. But such feelings alone provide a weak foundation
for a long-lasting relationship.

Ginger Kolbaba, author of Surprised
by Remarriage
Remarriage is a unique circumstance, and it proves to us
that God alone is the only source of our strength. Remarriage
leaves us understanding that there is no one who will never
let us down except for Christ. He is the only one we
can cling to; he understands our pain, and he is always on
the scene, even when we feel most alone.
