Most of us here are married and some are here that are engaged or are believing God for their spouse.

What were some characteristics that you looked for in a husband? I know that we probably all would say that he has to love the Lord but what about other things?

How did the Lord let you know that this person would be the one that you would enter into convenant with?

So many things, where do you begin? Other than being a Christian.

1. Does he regularly attend church?
2. What is his relationship like with his mother?
3. How does he interact with children?
4. Are his parents divorced?
5. Does he pull out a chair at a restaurant and come around to
open a car door for you?
6. Is he in debt?
7. Does he have a steady job? For how long?
8. Does he listen, or does he cut you off with his own opinions.
9. Does he bathe and shave?
10. Are there close Christian males/friends in his life.

Wow, where does one start, I look for alot---several things under spiritual alone.

But I'd have to say besides having a strong love for the Lord, being rooted & grounded in him and a committed & maturing relationship with him, these things:

Family-oriented with good values
Manages finances well
Respectful & courteous (a lady's man)
EXTREMELY romantic
My best friend
Excellent work ethic and has a sense of purpose & direction
Loyal
Trustworthy
Intregrity
Open-minded
Well-rounded
Not controlling
Has Christian friends
Attends church/involved in the ministry in some shape or form
A servant's heart

These are the main things for me.

I'm glad you asked. I looked for nice eyes and nice calves. I wasn't a Christian yet. Neither was my husband. We have been married 15 years now. Alot has happened in that time. God could not have picked a better mate for me. He'a a man of Great Character and Integrity. He has grown to know the Lord in a very personal way also. He has led us down a great Christian walk. Not without hardship, but I believe that has made us grow to who we are in Him. Although, if I were to choose today, my list would look alittle different. I tell my girls that first they must be financially independent, and confident in the Lord. Then, Pray. Also, make sure your parents say he's ok. lol GIC
