Hi.

My cousin Anthony was addicted to CRACK. He has found the LORD and is praying. He has also been thru ReHab and doing well at this time.

He is hopeful he can get his life together. He had a break down that led him to the drugs. He was not your typical drug addict. He had a wonderful job which he is hoping to get back.

Your prayers are so appreciated right now.

Thank you

Lord I lift up Anthony to you. Walk beside him, build him up and show him your trustworthiness and faithfulness so he knows he can depend on you each and every day. In Christ's name.

Dear JoBets

I am praying for healing for your cousin, Anthony. Thank you for introducing him to us. Circumstances can lead to all sorts of situations - and we are not to judge our brothers and sisters for the way they handle difficulties. Instead, we should love unconditionally and pray for God to heal wounds, bring peace and offer new hope. Anthony will benefit greatly from your support - and I join you in praying for him.

Thank you all very much.

I have sent him a birthday card with scripture for his reading. He was given a bible by his father and his step-mother. He is committed to turning his life around. But with all the problems in today's world and temptation, I hope he can stay strong.

He is living in a REHAB house right now in Brooklyn, NY. He has many family members that are very supportive. He has made amends with his father, brother and sister. This is such a wonderful accomplishment.

He has told me he was attached by another man, who planned to rob him. The man hit him in the head 8 times with a rock. He said he felt the breath of GOD breathing for him. He heard GOD's voice that he would be ok. He has also sought out Dr's and he is on medications. I did look up one or two and one of the med's is for suicidal thoughts.

I don't know too much about medication, but feel at this time this is best for him. He says he feels like a new person and is now able to think more clearly with the meds.

A little background. Their mother died in 1988. The father was very depressed and found another woman to marry. He left the kids in the house while dating this woman. He then married her and mostly stayed in her home leaving Anthony to be the "the father" so to speak. Anthony did not do a great job, and who can blame him. The 3 kids did not even mourn their mother in an appropriate time frame.

I doubt there was any family discussions as well. Anthony ran the family business that my grandmother left her daughter (their mother) and her husband (their father). One day a man came into the pizzeria and said he was the new owner. This was the straw that broke the camel's back. After that Anthony vowed to kill his father. He was just floating all that time. His house was going in foreclosure. My brother wanted to buy a house and bought his to save his house. Anthony made a lot of money and took his money to his life of drugs. This went on for almost 2 years.

We heard he was arrested once. My brother has friends in the Police force, this is how we found this information out. My brother wanted to go to that section of the Bronx where Anthony was staying. But his friends told him Anthony is in the WORST section of the Bronx. Said my brother could be shot just for showing up in that neighborhood.

Anthony spent about $180,000.00 on hotel stays, drugs, girls and GOD only knows what.

Anthony had a business card in his wallet for two years. He kept looking at the name but didn't know who it was. He said he ran out of money and starting thinking of doing bad things to people to get money. When those thoughts ran through his mind, he realized it was time to get some help.

After a little time of being in a detox and rehab. He pulled out this card in his wallet. He realized this was his cousin's business card and called him. This was my brother. My brother has extended his home and kindness to him. Providing he remains in the rehab and or his counseling sessions.

He has a long long road ahead of him. But is so thankful the Lord saved him and gave him a second chance at life.

He has some testimony to help others like him. He now reads and keeps a journal.

I want to thank you for reading this very long post. I do appreciate all your prayers for Anthony.

God Bless all of you
Josie
