I LOVE MY HUSBAND BUT FOR SOMETIME NOW, I FEEL LET DOWN. MY HUSBAND STILL DOESN'T SEE THAT THE WAY HE IS BEHAVING HE IS ALLOWING HIS FAMILY TO INTERFERE IN OUR MARRIAGE. SOMETIMES I FEEL SO TIRED THAT IT MAKES ME THINK IT WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER FOR ME NOT TO BE IN THE WORLD (WHICH I KNOW IT IS A SIN, I AM ASKING GOD TO FORGIVE ME AND GIVE ME THE STRENGTH).

I BELIVE IF WE HAD OUR OWN PLACE THEN THERE WOULD BE PEACE AND ALL THIS WOULD END. I SEE A LOT OF JELOUSY ON THE PART OF MY MOTHER-IN-LAW AND SISTER IN-LAW BUT I CAN'T TELL HIM THAT. I KNOW WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT AND THINGS THAT HAVE BEEN SAID BY THEM THAT I HAVE HEARD AND KNOW WHERE ALL THIS IS COMING FROM. I KEEP ASKING MY HUSBAND TO LEAVE THINGS THE WAY THEY ARE BY GIVING MY IN-LAWS LIMIT AND RESPECTING THEM BUT HE IS NOT SEEING ALL THIS. PLEASE PRAY ALONG WITH ME BECAUSE HONESTLY IT IS AFFECTING ME AND I AM SCARED THIS WOULD AFFECT OUR NINE MONTH OLD DAUGHTER.

PLEASE PRAY WITH ME.

Hi, and welcome.

It is a little bit hard to figure out what is going on in your marriage. I infer that you and your husband are living with relatives, and you feel he is aligned with them, rather than you?

I will pray that your husband will remember Genesis 2:24. After God, you should be the priority in his life.

Quote:
For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother, and be joined to his wife; and they shall become one flesh.

Lord, I lift this family and this marriage up to you. You know the boundaries that need to be established. You know that this husband needs to leave his family and cleave to his wife. Lord, I ask that you convict his heart and show him that this is what needs to be done.

In the meantime, if there someone you and your husband can go and talk to? Your pastor at your church?

Sometimes it can take younger men to realize where their loyalty needs to lie - God first, wife second, child third, family, then job.

Genesis 2:24 This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.

Sometimes a family doesn't know how to let go because of the love for their child.

It sounds like you might be living with family? That makes it extra hard. Perhaps, if that is the case, it really is time to consider getting a place of your own.

There are some great books written by Henry Cloud - Boundaries and the other one is Boundaries In Marriage.

Pointing out his families' flaws isn't going to help. When we are in a place of being "stuck", it's time to get some outside help.
