Hello, I am new to the website and posting. I am a stay at home mom, mother of 2 and my youngest just started 1st grade this fall. This is the first time in 7 years that I am home without one of my children.
I do not feel led to head back into the workforce at this time, but I would love prayers to help me see the direction God desires me to channel my energies! I have been praying and seeking God's wisdom in this area, but not seeing anything as of yet.
Any other stay at home mothers out there with children in school all day?
I hope I am posting in the right place.
Thanks! |

Welcome! Sorry for the delayed response.
I don't have any 'stay-at-home-mom'
expertise, but I'm sure someone will jump in...

Welcome, we're glad you decided to check GT out.
I came home about 7 years ago while my girls were in their teens and have continued to work from home. Couldn't get me back in an office if you paid be double. It was good for me to be home for them.
I'm so glad you've decided to do this. It's a lot of sacrifice and can mean huge changes to the family budget. I'm sure God has many blessings in store for you. |

I have been a stay at home mom, a working mom & now a 3 day a week working mom, but only during school hours. You have to pray & find out what is right for you as far as working. I have returned to work after 2 years off, because my kids are teenagers & I wanted a little extra money & some fun - may be it will be just for the holidays - some places are hiring temporary Christmas help & are so desperate, they are flexible with hours.
But as to what to do with your time at home... Find other moms from your children's school - go for coffee together a few mornings a week - commit to an ending time, so you don't spend the whole day...See if anyone wants to take walks, go to a gym (I prefer the walks)... Does your church or community have a Bible Study, that is a great way to meet more stay at home moms & of course to be in the word. Take up a new hobby. Many community colleges have fun courses too. Volunteer??? Commit one day a week to some community outreach program... Of course, keep your home, a home.
Staying home can be great, I will pray for God to guide you. |

Thanks for the emails. We just moved to a new state with my husbands job transfer. So I haven't made too many new friends just yet. But I know as I do then I will have some outlets for activities.
I have been volunteering at the kids schools and I am checking into volunteering at a crisis pregnancy center in the area. Thanks for the good tips.
God Bless. |
