Wow...You had some high expectations!!
I learned long ago to not have expectations, if I can help it. When you expect something from someone else, it means that they have to perform to make you happy. I expect myself to perform and live up to expectations that God has for me and then I pray for my needs to be met by God.
I find that I suffer less disappointment this way. I do sometimes get some expectations that sneak in and catch me by surprise, and that is why I am now in counseling with my hubby...*smile*...But I try to see people as fallible and human, and covered in grace, just like I hope others see me!!!
