| Hello, I'm new and this is my first message. You seem to give good advice so I'm going to give this a shot. I've been saved since I was 18, I'm 42 now. So that's not an issue. I've been married for 16 years. My husband had an affair and gave my claymidia when I was pregant (son is 12 now). Since then and even before that it's been one thing after another. Him not working, working me like a slave, even though I am physically handicapped, expecting me to cook, clean, take care of kids, pay all the bills in the house while he sleeps all day. I've done it for awhile. I don't hardly do anything anymore because I'm just tired. Not helping me while I was in the hospital having an emergency blood transfusion. To cut to the chase, the thing is I'm done emotionally. We're still married but I don't like him. I love him as a person and wouldn't want to see anything bad happen to him but I don't like him. I don't want to have a conversation with him. I don't want to go out to dinner with him. I don't want to do anything with him. All I want him to do is leave me alone. I don't have anybody else, I don't want anybody else. I'm not even near having an affair or anything like that I just don't like him anymore. |

I was there once upon a time too. Just empty and not feeling anything any more. I had to ask Christ every day to help me see my husband through his eyes. I would recommend picking up the book, Power of a Praying Wife by Stormy O'Martian. Another wonderfl book is Love and Respect by Emerson Eggerichs.
I discovered I needed to concentrate of the positive qualities of my husband and stop looking at everything he did wrong. No one does everything wrong all the time. Actually my attitude is what needed adjusting - not his.
If you haven't looked into Christian counseling, please do so through your local church or a non-profit agency if finances are tight. There is always a way to seek the help you need.
With Christ all things are possible and so are miracles in marriage. I have a deep, respectful, admiring, passionate love for my husband now and I'm so glad I leaned on God and looked for His guidance to restore these feelings for my husband. |
