Parenting book for first time parents

Hi all
Does anyone have suggestion on books or material that can walk us through trying starting a family with our first child. Anything that will help us in deciding what we want to do regarding finances, parenting, baby sitting etc.

We want to start a family and needing resources to help us do that.

I came across a new book that might be fun for your husband through www.relevantbooks.com. It is called "Becoming a Dad" by Stephen James and David Thomas.

Preparing to be a dad has more to do with bravely facing the deep questions of your soul than mastering the mechanics of baby care (although, that's really important too). Becoming a Dad ushers men into this disruptive, redemptive and transforming experience called fatherhood.

Looks pretty interesting? Let me know what you think if you pick it up for him.

In addition to Sam’s recommendation, I would suggest any book written by Dr. James Dobson of Focus On The Family (http://www.family.org/). Simply search for books about raising children and you’ll have plenty to ponder in the months ahead.
