I am a newbie here and sooo glad I found this board. First of all, I have three specific prayer requests.
1) My Marriage: I have been out of work since September 2001 and since then the intimacy has really dropped in my 3 1/2 year marriage. I feel that my husband is very resentful and bitter since I have been out of work. I think he feels that he is having to do it all alone. He has drifted away from me since then and we are not as close as we have been. I miss him very much. Please pray that God will restore the closeness and intimacy within our marriage.
2) A Job: I have been searching for five months now and with the economy have had no success. Have really been using this time to get into the Word and trust God. But, I feel I need to be working to help with our income.
3) My oldest son: Jonathan is 14 and has been struggling in school with his behaviour and grades. The poor fellow seems to be grounded all the time, but does not seem to be picking up his grades and his behaviour is on again and off again. Please pray that God will give him a desire to want to learn and do better.
Thank you for your prayers and any godly advice and suggestions are greatly appreciated. You can also e-mail me at Southrnchelle@aol.com. |

Glad to have you join us. We have prayed for you, your husband and son this morning. I have two daughters, one soon to be 17 and the other 21. The teen years are so very difficult. A friend of mine once told me I would wear out my knees during these years, she was right, because I am in prayer for them all the time. I pray for their safety, their walk with God, and that they are not tempted by what they see in those around them at school. I have prayed the same for your son this morning. I have also learned I cannot keep them from making mistakes, they need to make their own and learn from them. I think that is the hardest thing my husband and I have had to sit back and observe because it breaks your heart and that of God at the same time.
We pray your job situation improves soon. As hard as it can be, we have found after 2 layoffs, there is always something better God has in store for us. Financial stress always seems to lead to other stresses in a relationship. I have asked God to relieve and heal both for you.
Take care and let us know how things are going. |

Sending one up to the Big Guy right now!
Glad to have you with us. I heard someone say once, hang in there! I shudder to think that we have to hang in there. My picture in my mind is a cat hanging/clutching to a bar. I'd rather think that if we abide in Christ, God holds us in His hands. So be comforted by the thought that God is holding you in His hands. Love in Christ, GIC |

Just a little news to share:
My parents came up Easter weekend and we went to see a play titled "He is Risen". It was put on by my husband's church that he used to go to before we got married. My husband is a baptist and I was raised a pentacostal. Well, after we got married, I wanted to go to a pentacostal church and would always complain that my husband would not go with me and I wanted us going as a family. Well, my Dad gave me some fatherly advice that weekend. He said: Michelle, your husband really enjoyed the play put on by his church and if you want your husband to go to church with you as a family, then you need to go where HE feels comfortable. He told me: It does not matter where you go as long as you go and worship the Lord and hear His word. I discussed with my husband about starting to attend his church on Sundays and he said he would. So, this Sunday, we are going to church as a family. Praise the Lord.
One other little thing: Day before yesterday, I noticed that I was missing an ear ring that fell out of my ear, I looked everywhere for it and was kind of upset, (you see my husband gave me these ear rings for christmas and they are real gold - have never been given real jewelry before other than wedding bands). So, they were real special to me. That night, I prayed and asked the Lord to help me find it. The next morning, got up, forgot all about it. Went to the unemployment office where I had been the day before. As the rep was taking me toward the computers to take my test, I happened to glance up to a TALL filing cabinet. There was my ear ring. I could not believe it. Even the rep was surprised, he said he was shocked that the cleaning people did not just throw it away. God spoke to my heart right then and said "If I can answer your prayer in the SMALL things such as an ear ring, can I not answer your prayer in the BIG things like a job?" (BY THE WAY, HAVE TWO JOB INTERVIEWS LINED UP ALREADY FOR NEXT WEEK).
Thank you so much for your prayers and just had to share with you how God is moving in my life. I hope everyone has a great day in JESUS! :p |

What wonderful news. I think your dad gave you very wise advice. Sometimes we don't always see things the same way, but it will probably soften your husband's heart knowing you are willing to serve him in this way.
We'll keep praying for the right job the Lord wants to give you. |

Just an update on the job situation. Went on job interview Tuesday and was conditionally accepted. I felt a real peace about the whole job and it has everything that I desire in a job. Hubby is excited as well. If I get the letter of acceptance next week, then I feel that this is the one that Lord wants to bless me with. Thanks for all of your prayers.
In Him,
Chelle |
