I often pray best meditating over a keyboard, 'cause it forces me to marshall and corral my thoughts. The discipline of it, y'know.
Abba, Holy One, You and You alone
are worthy
You alone are beauty
and peace
and light -
and any good thing here below
is only so
because it reflects You
Consider my friend Jeff,
a bit of Your creation
who reflects You right well
in his loving heart
and love of the ridiculous
(and his own beauty)
Be obvious for him, please Sir
we get so distracted by the world
we need You to break through
we need You to shine so brightly
that we cannot miss You
Jeff needs that
Jeff needs to feel You there
I know You love him
so passionately
let him feel that
help him know that
Visit Jeff with a sense of
Your care and presence
undeniable
unmistakeable
unavoidable
inexorable
Let him know once more
beyond all doubt
the preceious, priceless child
he is to You
Surround him with all power
of Your angel-servants
make his house
a house
of
love
peace
prayer
understanding
bless Jeff beyond his wildest imaginings
comfort Jeff beyond
all possible Earthly comfort
make him know
somehow
just how special he is
to You
and to everyone else
I dare ask, Lord of Glory,
Father,
because You have made me promises
You have sealed me against The Day
with Your own Spirit
and adopted me through the
Elder Brother, the Firstborn,
Jesus
in authority borrowed from Him I pray
Beloved Father
not in the tattered rags
of my own "worthiness"
for my friend Jeff
