We try to keep our date nights simple and do the things that we enjoy and would possibly expend money on anyway.
Last night, after running my daughter to piano, picking her up and running to the bread store and bank, I slid into home. I changed my shirt and shoes and we were off for dinner at local eatery. During the summer they have a jazz combo playing on the porch. We take time to talk about life. We laugh and flirt with each other.
Afterwards we get on the motorcycle and take a ride to the local bookstore. We browse the stacks and may or may not purchase anything, sometimes just looking is enough. We then get back on the bike and take the long road home, taking time on the winding roads. Fresh air makes the mind clear.
It is amazing how just a short time together can make you remember why you are doing life as a twosome. |
