I have been working on making improvements within myelf to line up with God's word. Right now, I am working on having a better attitude and not taking offense. Some days are good, and some are not so good. For the most part, I have made progress. I have been reading about what love is and the friuts of the spirit.

Well, I told my husband what I was doing, and he seems to think that I have self-esteem issues. He asked me whether I like myself. I told him that I don't have problems with my self-esteem because I believe what God has said about me being fearfully and wonderfully made, and being part of a royal priesthood. I also told him that I wanted my behavior to line up with how God says I should be. (And, I wasn't being arrogant when I said it Very Happy)

I think my husband understood where I was coming from. Any thoughts from anyone else?

Sticking with memorizing the fruits of the Spirit is enough to humble the best of us. Love, joy, patience, kindness, peace, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Trying to live it out on a daily basis would be something to pray for God's help with every day.

Something rather struck me in your original post - marzettejohnson

being part of a royal priesthood

Can you help me understand how being a part of the royal priesthood aligns with building your self-esteem? I was reading back through 1 Peter 2:9 and don't quite get how that applies, but I would like to know from your perspective.

Psalm 139:14-16 says - I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place.
When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be.

I draw my strength in my self-esteem from this verse, as I know He thought of me and knew me before I was even born. I am wonderfully made with a few kinks and curves along the way Laughing
