I have read and re-read POAPH and have even participated in the e-study here. I love the book and God spoke to me and dealt with me through this book.
I ask my wife how if there is anything I can pray for her regarding and she always says there isn't. We both agreed to pray together before we go to sleep but she never would, then said it just felt like we were going through the motions or that she didn't feel led to.
I feel led to and truly believe that it will bless us so I just lay there quietly praying before I go to sleep and when I wake up.
I ask God to reveal to me how I can pray for my wife, I usually go back and pray for topics that Stormie wrote about.
I don't want to be pushy or make it a point of contention....she half way read POAPW but won't finish it or start it again. She wouldn't finish The Five Love Languages even though she bought it for us....I love that book too and He spoke to me through it as well......
Any suggestions? I just keep praying for discernment and for her in general.......

Your wife does not have to pray with you. It may make her very uncomfortable and vulnerable. It's OK to ask her if you can just pray.
In time, she may join you. She may also feel that you pray more eloquently that she does and that intimidates her. Try writing down your prayers throughout the week on index cards, then share those prayers with each other once per week. It is a start. |
