| Please pray for my Husband. He has been unemployed since October, 2002 and has been unsuccessful so far in obtaining a new job. Pray that God leads him and that he will follow wherever God leads. Also pray for him regarding his spiritual walk. He needs to draw closer to God and not rely on other things for encouragement. Please pray for deliverance and the ability to resist temptations that come his way. Thanks, Shel |

Shel, I've prayed for you and your husband. Hang in there.
Are you guys "connected" at your church? Small Group?
What kind of work is he looking for? |

First Prayer . . . .
I was out of work over 10 months last year. That extra extra time, needs to be kept active and busy. I felt I learn how to really pray; and spent a lot of time study the bible. Actually Growthtrac was an excellant place to visit each day to help stimulate my daily walk. Focusing my attention on Godly things and to truly study God's word.
Temptation? Is he connected? Is there a men group? Not a bible study, but a group where men discuss men's issues?

To all who responded to my post....
Thank you so much for your prayers. We have been praying very hard for God's will and direction in his life and our family!
Janine....my hubby is collecting unemployment and I have a job outside the home. Unemployment is due to end at the end of April, but the Lord is faithful and we got an extension until August 1.
Webacus....we are very connected at church. In fact, we are in charge of a small group. We have several people praying for us and my Husband is also in charge of a small group called Transitions at church to help people find a job or change jobs.
Daverep....thanks for the encouragement. He has really been doing a lot of things around the house that needed to be done. Also has gotten into baking....bread namely!!! I send him a daily devotional online so he has some connection. I also encourage him to pray and also bought him "The Power of a Praying Husband" for Easter. (hint, hint)
thank you all for your prayers and keep on praying. I'll keep you updated. I really appreciate the support!

Webacus:
Sorry I forgot to say....he's in sales. He's sold everything from power tools, to automotive parts to cell phones. He's also considering going back to school to become a lawyer. That's been a life long dream. We feel that this is God's will, just don't know where to start.
Thanks again all for praying. We need a miracle!

Looks to me as if a loving God is already in the business of providing miracles for you both.
How interesting that he heads up a group for people "in transition" - that's why the name, I guess! Now he gets a chance to prove his claims and practice his preaching. Don't think God's hand isn't hovering over this situation.
Blessings on you both! |

Janine,
Thanks for the encouragement! Today I needed it. It's just been one of those days where we haven't heard anything on any job leads and it's a real downer. I know my Husband is stressed and at times afraid, but he's doing a good job at keeping himself busy. I wish I could let go of my feelings of being afraid and trust God more. It could be my fears that are keeping the "answer" from arriving. Please pray for me to let go and let God take control. I need to quit trying to take the situation back into my own hands and let God control it himself. He knows better than we do and I know it!!!!
This board is a wonderful outlet and helps me to know that there are others out there who care. Thanks!

That's what we're here for.
It will be your turn to comfort me when we go through the exciting, scary time of starting a new congregation this summer. |

Well, here it is May 14th and we still haven't heard anything regarding the interview on the 5th. My husband was supposed to hear something by the end of last week (which would've been May 9th). I know this doesn't necessarily mean that he didn't get the job, but in the past this is what happens. Companies don't do what they say they're going to do and leave us hanging. It's so frustrating and we are hanging on by threads emotionally and financially. I know that God is in control and has it all in His hand, but there are times when I'm so afraid. I just don't know how to pray anymore.

Shel, sometimes there are no words to pray, darlin'.
That's what the Spirit is for. Just sort of meditate and commune with our Abba, Who loves us more than we love ourselves. Rest quietly in Him. Sometimes that's all you can do. And sometimes that's the best thing to do anyway. |

Janine,
Thanks so much for your post. That is exactly what I'm doing. Just waiting on God. We found out yesterday that the company did in fact hire someone else. So now we are back to square one. We know that God has an awesome job in store, but our human nature takes over and just makes us so impatient.
Please keep praying. We appreciate the love and support.
Shel
