Please pray for Jack a little boy in my congregation who swallowed a small ball, which cut off his air. They removed the ball, but he is unable to breath on his own, and is in a coma.

Jack is still in a coma.

The people of our church have come together to protect this family. We have people at the hospital with the family and Jack, and Sunday we had a prayer vigil in their driveway of their home. The boy has a personal nurse at the hospital, and older person. He said he has never seen a church group rally like this before. There were other people in the hospital who had bad accidents etc., but no one was supporting them. Where were there church fellowships, he asked? The story has even made the local newspaper, what a great witness to Jesus Christ and his people.

Will let you all know the outcome, at this moment we are asking the Lord for a miracle, because that is what it will take.

Dave, I for one am deeply touched by this story as I have three little ones, waiting for our fourth. It is devestating how something so seemingly harmless could be so deadly. There really is no way to totally protect our children from every danger. I recently heard a story where a young one swallowed some baby oil and suffocated to death. I have baby oil around, as well as balls of all sizes. Jack will definately stay in my prayers for a miracle, as well as his family. Keep up the interceding and please keep posting on his progress.

God took little 4 year old Jack with him on Monday.

Our community is heartbroken, and we now pray for his 6 year old sister, and his parents to deal with the pain and to make it through the next couple of weeks and then the months to come.

The one hope is that our witness to Christ, that was exhibted by us at their home, at the hospital, and at our church, which did grab the attention of many non-believers will work to bring others to Christ.

Thank you for your prayers.

PS- Just a warning to parents of any age kids. The ball the boy was playing with in his mouth, was deflated with the pressure of his teeth, once deflated it fell back into his mouth. Once free of the holding pressure of the teeth, air re-inflated the ball in his throat, causing him to choke.

Dave, I'm so sorry to hear that. The family must be hurting. Sounds like they were sorrounding by lots of loving, supportive friends.

Stay close to them -- not just through the funeral, but in the months to come. They will need you.
