So glad to hear things have gone well for you. Thank you Lord for providing for this family!
I also have fibromyalgia and have done 100% better since going on a vegetarian diet 8 years ago. Most fibro patients do not assimilate animal protein well. I used to take 4-5 meds a day - I no longer take anything other than my vitamins and plant protein supplement.
I understand how painful it can be and tiring. I will continue to pray for you and the energy you need to get your home settled. |

SusieQ,
We had gone to Dayton, Ohio for a mini vacation. I grew up around Houston, then we moved to near Waco in 1984. We are now in upper Mississippi. We've been here for 5 years. The piney woods of Miss. are beautiful, but I don't like the deer that pop out at you from the sides of the roads at different times of the year. They also do not have shoulders on the roads here except for the main highways. A young lady friend of my daughter went with us to Texas and could not believe that we pull off on the shoulder of the road when someone behind us needs to get by. Texas hospitality I told her.
That is so wild that you are familiar with Houston and Waco. Small world, indeed. Was the traffic in Chicago as crazy as it is in Houston? I just tell people in order to survive you just have to drive as crazy as everyone else.
Mercy, I can't even imagine what it's like to try and deal with all what goes into arranging a house and dealing with the pain you are having. Gosh, I hope that you try what Sam is suggesting. Had you ever heard of that? Sam, how did you find that out? Can I ask how long it took before you could see results? I know someone who also suffers with this ailment and would love to inform her of this. What plant protein supplement are you taking? Sounds wonderfully freeing.
Isn't is great that we have a place to go to not only for Godly wisdom for our situations but even for info on other things. Thanks Sam!
I will continue to pray for you. Remember, breathe!

I found out about the program I started through a friend. She knew a woman who is an emergency room nurse who was virtually bedridden with fibro. She started investigating ways to heal herself when the doctors had no suggestions - other than writing prescriptions.
She found a herbologist - a Christian man - who specializes in organic herbal supplements and cleansing of the body. www.herbdoc.com
I started with the cleansing program suggested and taking the SuperFood. I put the plant protein powder (SuperFood) into fruit smoothies in the morning. She then suggested that I buy a few vegetarian cookbooks and cook a vegetarian meal every other day. I had my first pain free day only 8 days after starting the cleansing. Within 6 months I stopped eating meat and have never looked back. The body can live without animal protein and do well. Adam and Eve were vegetarians (Genesis 1:29). It wasn't until after the flood that God told Noah meat was permissable (Genesis 9:3). They couldn't have eaten meat on the Ark, they needed the animals to multiply after the flood.
I also stopped drinking cow's milk. I drink Almond Milk or Rice Milk.
I have stopped drinking soft drinks and purchase mostly organic vegetables and fruits.
I can function and I sleep well now without medications. My bloodwork and cholesterol is better than it has ever been. And, it helped me lose a tremendous amount of weight. |

RJ, Sam -
No, I haven't heard of that kind of diet for Fibro. I know that I was told to cut down on sugar, salt, and red meat, also pork. And for the most part I don't drink diet drinks because I think the Nutrasweet can cause joint pain and it's just chemicals anyway. I have a tendency toward low blood sugar and protein is important for me, so I would have to make sure I had a good source. I guess I could try it for a few weeks while not working, I do know that you can combine grains and legumes to make a complete protein. Have you heard of www.mercola.com (Dr. Mercola in Chicago)? He has a cleansing program that is supposed to be gentle but effective that I might try. Also, I have a wonderful chiropractor here in Houston that has me on supplements for the Chronic Fatigue and thyroid. Everything I take helps but with some things I'm dealing with, I still have the depression and may get back on something for awhile to help.
I talked with my daughter last night who moved in with her dad when I moved to Chicago, and she doesn't want to come over according to the visitation guidelines set in the decree. Normally, that would be ok, but my ex is the type that no matter how much you give, it's not enough and when I had her living with me, I would let her go and visit him even when it wasn't his time, and that was fine. When I was here visiting Thanksgiving through Christmas last year, 5 weeks, I saw her 3 times. He didn't really want her coming over unless it was my visitation. So, I've said, we are going by the decree period. Don't know whether that is right or not, but I feel if we do that, everyone knows what to expect, and that's that. Then to make it worse my daughter at college called to let me know my daughter was very upset and I shouldn't make her visit me, etc. etc. and I told her that I didn't need her getting in the middle of this. Even their dad and his wife, when I made her come up with me for my visitation after Christmas, told my daughter that I shouldn't make her go, instead of supporting me. He's part of the problem and part of why I really don't want to be here but here I am! And Lord, if you don't want me here, take me back up to Chicago away from this mess!!! I thought I was doing the right thing by coming back,to be with my daughter, but now I'm not sure.
I will check out that site SAM, and talk with my chiropractor about the diet. Thanks for the information, I appreciate any advice.
Have a great day, I'm going to try and get some rest today, I didn't sleep much last night! |

Yes, have read and know Dr. Mercola and his treatments well. He is very expensive to visit.
If you call 1-800-HERBDOC they will send you out a free catalog with all the information you need about their cleansing program and supplements along with what's in them and what they do.
It is such a radical shift/change in how to manage this disease, that my doctor thought I was nuts. The proof was in the changes in me.
Getting all the toxins and chemicals out of your body does wonders for your skin and your sleep habits.
I will pray for your situation with your daughter. It is so very difficult to know what to do. |

Yes, Dr. Mercola is very expensive. I never went to him, I started reading his articles long before I moved there. His products tend to be expensive too, and the shipping. I'll give them a call for the catalog. I know that herbal stuff works well, I've been on an herbal supplement for menopause and once I started that, I've only had to play with the dose a little, it works very well, so much better than the medication!
Thank you for your continued prayers, I appreciate it so much. |

SAM,
My chiropractor says that cleansing is not for the "faint of heart" ... how was this cleansing program? I was reading, he says not to even do the 2nd part until you complete the 1st part and everything is working well. How did you feel during all this? Almost makes me sick just reading about it!

SAM,
On one of your posts on 3/28 you mentioned that my bf had no desire to serve me and I agreed. There's something that bothers me and I wanted your opinion, and if any others have opinions on this I welcome them.
He does something that bothers me, he knows it bothers me, but he continues to do it. I'm not an animal person, although, I've learned to live with animals in the house when my kids were at home. He has a dog, a large dog, that sheds terribly and although I don't like it, there's nothing that can be done about it but keep up with cleaning, which he doesn't take an active part in and I feel he should, it's his dog. There's also a supplement that we've given the dog, that cuts down on the shedding tremendously as well as helps his joints (he's an older dog) but he won't keep up with that either.
Here's my main question... he has this habit of putting his plate on the floor when he's done eating and letting the dog finish what's there. That REALLY bothers me. It bothers me that he feeds the dog stuff that makes him sick, and then he throws up and has diarrhea. He doesn't get sick all the time, but I think at his age he should eat food that is meant for him and not table scraps because he does have a sensitive stomach and feeding him like my bf does makes him beg for food and make a general pest of himself while we are trying to eat. Is this something I should just "deal" with or should my bf take into consideration that this bothers me? While he's gotten better and doesn't do it as often, he's basically told me that there's nothing wrong with it and he's going to feed him the way he wants to. He says as long as the dish is going in the dishwasher there shouldn't be a problem but the problem is it makes the dog run to you every time he hears a crackle of a package being opened, he sits close by you while you're eating waiting for a scrap to be dropped, he wont' eat his dog food until he makes sure that something else won't be offered or poured on his food, and if I set my plate down, he's got his nose on it sniffing it.
Am I being too picky? |
