Due to lack of support, counsel, and action taken in many situatons we have had to face in the past years, especially recently, Jason and I have decided it's well past time to re-root in another church. We have prayed on this for a long time now, and although we always felt to leave, we never did (too comfortable?). Finally, due to issues with the in-laws and the lack of much needed intercession on the part of the pastor, we know we need to re-locate. We want couseling and growth. Our pastor, however, is good at "schmoozing" people and saying things to appease them in situations like these. We may be coming against opposition and guilt when we meet with him to get his blessing to leave. Please keep us, our pastor, and this decision in prayer. We want to be in God's will, and we feel we are. I actually heard the Holy Spirit tell me TWICE that although the pastor is accountable for his decisions regarding his congregation, so are we accountable for following if we know he's not leading us in a Godly way. (sigh)
Also, Jason and I are going to hold a meeting with his parents soon to set boundaries. We are, at least for a season, telling them that we need a time of seperation. We wanted to do this under the covering of our pastor, but he is still delaying us after a month, even though he says he is in agreement. We will be coming up against many ungodly spirits when we enter into this meeting and anticipate a rough ride. Haven't set a date yet, but please pray for us for strength and God's will.
Thank you in advance (if you want to know the story with the in-laws, refer to "marraige", it's an old post in there).
