Hii,
In the new testament, we read about our being the sons of God -something that was pre-ordained.
In Psalms, David talks about God knowing us, as we were knit in our mothers wombs. In another Psalm - that God knows the count of our hairs.
Now, does this mean that God knows us individually, and is intimate with us, in such a way that everyone has a different calling? Does each and every Christian have a purpose/calling from God?
And if so, how do you know what your calling is? Is there a set way, a pre-ordained way that each of us ought to follow?
Is there anything like an individual will, or do we just do our thing, and God blesses that if it is within the teachings of His word?
Please do not overspiritualize this stuff. I just need to have a clear answer, and support it with Bible verses.
Thanks! |

Sorry, I did not see your post on this earlier.
Can you give me a little time to do some checking and I will get back with you on this? |

We know God knows us, dear, individually, intimately, if He numbers the very hairs of our heads, and if He knew us as He formed us in our mothers' wombs.
Whether He has such a specific plan for us -- whether He says things like "Jadalina, in My Perfect Will, will wear a pink shirt today..." -- That is another story. |

| I do not have an intellectual or a scriptural answer to your question. I can tell you that I have asked myself that many times in the past and I have found that He speaks to our hearts. I believe our conscience is Him talking to us, telling us when we are making the right or the wrong decision. I think that when you feel uncomfortable about a decision you have made and you have doubts, He is trying to direct you in a different direction. I used to ignore that feeling or the "voices" in my head telling me I was making the wrong decision. I lived for me and I lived sinfully. I have grown a lot in the last few years and I have found that when I listen to Him he never leads me in the wrong direction. Lots & Lots of prayer is essential to finding the right path for your life. He will lead you if you will open your heart and listen. |
