I am trying to figure out how to stop this......I believe in my state (TN) I can deny irreconcileable differences (which is true b/c we have not tried counseling so I do not believe we know if this is indeed irreconcileable). Do any of you have info that I could use?

Pray for me b/c I cant really afford to do this but I believe God does not want this and I am going to buy any time that I can so God can work. PRAY!

I'm praying every day for you and your wife.

I don't know of anyone here on the boards who is an attorney. Many times if you do a search on google under Tennessee Divorce Law you'll find a number of things that you can read up on.

Like Illinois, I believe Tennessee is the same with No Fault divorce and irreconcilable differences is a nice way of saying I want out. There doesn't have to be a legitimate reason for filing.

It may mean speaking with an attorney to help you out. It might be worth the one hour fee to find out what your options are and if you can fight this legitimately before you hire him/her on a full-time basis.

It's hard when there has been no effort to even try and reconcile and perhaps this is what you tell the attorney - she has refused counseling together (which is truthful). You may want to tell her attorney the same thing and see what he says.

Well, after talking to one of my mentors (in the legal world) I have decided not to sign anything that I do not agree with. SO....Im not signing anything. I do not agree that these are irreconcilable differences. I believe God would prefer for me to remain a man of integrity instead of slinking away at the first (or 20th) sign of adversity. I truly believe that Satan was trying to get me to take the easy way out. Thanks for the prayers! John 14:23 "If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching." He tells us not to divorce our spouses so I guess thats what I must do!
