| How would you have been exposed to him had he not been published? You had to see/hear enough information about him to get an idea of what he's like, yes? |

Janine,
When I first saw his work, it was not from anything that was/is published. And from what I know about him now, its not even enough to know the color of his hair.
However, I am not sweating it. Thank you for your feedback. |

Anthony,
Your point is true and am taking it into consideration. Thank you for your feedback. I am in the process of testing 'everything'. It's a wee bit torturous - that is all I can say. Ok, that's a joke - but I am really testing everything.
Pray for me. |

Everything needs to be tested against the touchstone of the Scriptures.
1 John 4:1, D-RV:
"Dearly beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits if they be of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world."
Acts 17:10-12, NKJV:
Then the brethren immediately sent Paul and Silas away by night to Berea. When they arrived, they went into the synagogue of the Jews. These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so. 12 Therefore many of them believed, and also not a few of the Greeks, prominent women as well as men.
You are very wise to do this.

Janine,
Thank you. I hope that I can emerge a better believer than before, when this is done. I really appreciate all the feedback that I have from christians on this message board. I will let you know what happens.
Thanks again |

Hii,
I am still in the testing and waiting phases. Yes, today, it's been one of those days that I wanted to give up - I have done that before, but I feel impressed to stick with the process. Currently at - 9.51 p.m., I want to run, run, run and never stop! I want to leave the whole process, and forget anything ever happened. I am asking God to alleviate me from this pressure of waiting, or just not knowing. Am I thinking too hard? Can I just decide I don't want to try anything out?
Please pray for me. |

Might be easier on your nerves if you just rested in the Lord's arms & left it to Him.
I know, easier said than done.
Is there some reason you need to be married soon? Is there some reason you would feel un-valuable to God if you were left unmarried, at least for now, able to serve Him in singleness? |

Janine,
Thank your for your advice. No, there is no reason for a rush. In fact, I was just content about praying about my future spouse(that God blesses him and reveal him to me). Praying for a future spouse, does not mean you want marriage there and then. I can say that God has been good to me, because I have seen change in my life, in my choices etc. I have experienced happiness, than I have known before.
Now, when it comes to this occurence, it challenges me to think differently, to give room for something different to happen in my life, and probably earlier than I thought. I have always pictured myself settled financially and career wise, before marriage.
At the moment, I feel that the occurence puts into question, the many plans I had believed in God for. It puts into question my preferences in a husband, i.e. the person is of a different race. It puts into question my preference on where to live and bring up my children i.e. I want to do so in another continent altogether.
With such things at stake, yes, I would like to know whether the occurence is from God or not. And just waiting and waiting, sometimes seems too long. However, I want to rest in the knowledge that those things will not tarry - and that all will be revealed to me in time.
Thanks. |

God's plans are so high above anything I could conceive, I never cease to be surprised. :O
Amazing, too, how He works them out so well without my help! :tounge2: |

You can't always get want you want.

Participate with God, don't anticipate God's plan, you just may spoil his surprise. |

Davep,
I am not a fan of Rolling Stones, but they may be right.
Are you saying I should accept God's plan in my life without question? What I want to do, is to find out what God's plan is, is it his plan or mine? Is it possible to find out what God's plan is for our lives? Where does ambition and others fit in?
Thanks. |

I think people spend to much time and effort, attempting to figure out "God's Special Plan" for them. The Bible is our compass on what "God's Overal Plan" is for all of us. We don't have a vague God. God did not give us a cookbook of recipes and formulas to follow, likewise why would his personal plan for us be any different. If this was a hot topic, it would have had many a verses in the Bible.
You can get hung up attempting to figure out the trees God has planned for you, and lose sight of God's Big Forest and Purpose he has for you. |

Davep, Davep,
Nowhere in the bible does it say that we should just sit back and our calling will drop from heaven. We have to work for everything. But as Christians, we have a helper - we have someone who carries us through the good and rough spots and that is God. We also have the bible to show us whether what we plan to do, or what we do is in agreement with the will of God. My question was about knowing what God's plan is for you, ie. your ministry etc. Is it wrong to have plans, to have preferences, to seek out for your future, for a christian to have ambitions?
God bless |

God's will and plan is real easy and not complicated. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind, and Love your neighbor as yourself. Finally go and spread the Gospel.
Why do Christians feel the need for their own ministry? I hear this a lot? God gave us what he was looking for, why aren't we satisfied with what he gave us?
Your personal plans, dreams, and ambitions are great. But God's will and plan works with you, what ever you choose.
Where in the Bible does it say that each is given their own special assignment, special gifts, yes, but a special ministry or assignment. Believers are used every day with and without knowing it. God can use you without you even knowing what you did. |
