| I am looking for someone who is married to a porn addict that wants to talk and help eachother get through all the mess our husbands have thrown us into. I would like another Military wife some aspects of this lifestlye are making things even harder. i feel helpless here. |

| I'm sorry you are going through this. It's an issue that plagues many families, military is no exception. I sometimes think it's more of an issue for our situations because of the "macho" mentality that goes along with being in the military. My husband is in the Marines and we have dealt with this issue more than once. I wouldn't say it's an addiction as much as a lack of willpower for my husband. We talk about it and have many safeguards set up on the computer that have helped keep him in check. Does your husband have another guy he can talk to? The chaplain would be a great place for him to start, but having an accountability partner (not you!) goes a long way in helping resist temptation. Guys understand the struggle and know how to keep eachother accountable. I hope this helps. |

Dear USAWife, I know that your heart is heavy. Certainly the indoctrination of the military, and [possible deployment makes your situation complex.
My husband travels extensively, for his job, not the same as deployment, but gone alot, regardless. If you wish to email me, we can email back and forth or talk on the phone, which ever works better for you. My husband's addiction to porn progressed to almost every level of sexual perversion you can imagine.
Does your husband have an open heart regarding this issue? |

Welcome to Growthtrac! As you will find, several of us on here understand completely. Feeling helpless, know what that feels like. Husbands just don't understand how it affects us. My husband felt that it was just a private matter. No big deal. Trouble was it advanced into something more. It's ok to share here. You will receive nothing but kindness, understanding, and biblical truth here. These brothers and sisters are amazing in their reaching out to help and pray. It is so freeing to put a thought out there and get opinions from people who care, who know. Believe me, when I say you are not alone in this.
