Jeremy Camp: Carried Me-The Worship Project

Jeremy Camp is a busy man. While spending most of 2003 on the road in support of his madly successful debut album, Stay, he still had time to get married and put together a fabulous worship project. This CD is said to be "one for the fans," as many people have requested that Camp divvy up a worship album.
With a sound very much akin to his first release, Stay, Carried Me: The Worship Project is a harmonious and fresh approach to many of the worship songs sung in churches every Sunday. Moving from silky, free-flowing ballads, such as Camp's own "Revive Me," to intense, straight-up rock, in "You Are Worthy of My Praise," Carried Me touches upon more than a few musical genres.
A number of the tracks are somewhat reminiscent of Petra's praise albums of the '90s as Camp puts forth definitive, grungy vocals and fiercely addictive tunes. Others, however, bring to mind the worship sounds of Third Day, SONICFLOOd and Chris Tomlin. Carried Me is a brilliant, well-rounded worship album with a good number of straightforward praise songs along with several introspective tracks. The overall tempo of the project is just right — not too hard, not too soft.
This is the kind of worship experience that almost anyone can appreciate, whether a fan of Big Daddy Weave, Todd Agnew or Kutless.
